Not A Natural 24 Hours Anymore

I’m thinking I must chronicle

our ecological demise daily

since there are flashy bombs

and democracy desecrations daily

that take our attention away

from what we can and need to do daily

if we are to thrive

and find anywhere near to find daily

living in the next years, count

them by the decades or daily

if you like it’s all the actual

same time but I actually wonder daily

how much time we have as the earth

heats up and water rises daily

and I try not to be too sullen,

but that’s hard for me, is it for you? When daily

we know more than we want to know

and are deluged with information daily

so much so that we are tempted to just go

our backyard and water the plants daily

as if our little corner (of the world)

is what we can steward (or flee to)

while the rest of the globe daily

flies through the universe not naturally

melting (that would be ok) but is daily

carbonized by our conveniences.
